This is a compact Epidendrum, with a leafy stem ranging from 30-60cm high, producing a ball of 10-15 bright coloured, 2-3cm long lasting flowers on an upright stem. The flowering habit is sequential, as the old flower drops off a new flower emerges from the centre of the ball. This genus is part of the Cattleya alliance and is often used in breeding orchids.
The plant is flowering size or with a spike. Expect yellow to red flowers.
