Aerides odorata is a very nice species, widely distributed from India through Southeast Asia. The plant can reach 150 cm tall and wide when mature, with stout, erect to drooping stems that often branch at the base. Each flower spike occasionally produces as many as 50 very fragrant spicy, clove to lilac scented, waxy flowers that are 2-4 cm across.
Grow this species in high indirect light conditions, cool to hot temperature, 60%-90% humidity. Water heavily while actively growing, let the media dry a bit between watering. Reduce watering during cooler months.
