Gongora galeata is a species of orchid found in southern Mexico. It grows usually on mountain slopes directed to the Gulf of Mexico. It blooms in the summer and autumn with 15 to 20cm long, pendant, many flowered stems and has a fragrant flower that is akin to oranges. Flowers measure 4 to 5cm across. This unusual and visually unique orchid, grows happily in dappled indirect light and cool to warm conditions. You won't regret adding this special orchid to your collection.
