This wee treasure reminds me a bit of a masquerade ball and the masks everyone wears. This Phalaenopsis has an intriguing purple spotted mask over a soft pink base. Expect large flowers of around 10 - 12cm across (not too much 'wee' about it).
Phalaenopsis are possibly the most popular orchid available for inside growing, with their spectacular spike of long-lasting, showy blooms. Originating from India, through southeast Asia, north to the Philippines and south to northern Australia; they therefore like a well-lit, warm position. Keep them indoors all year round in a well ventilated area, but away from direct sunlight, cold drafts and windows - where temperature changes are extreme.
