Stanhopea wardii is a medium sized, cool to warm growing epiphyte occurring on trees and on rocks in humid cloud forests of Southern Central America and northern South America. It can fill an entire house with it's pleasing scent - jasmine, candy to chocolate. One whiff and you'll feel your home has been transformed into a floral paradise, without the hassle of a green thumb!
They bloom in the summer and autumn on a pendant, 3 to 10 flowered, 15 to 18 cm long, crowded inflorescence arising on a mature pseudobulb and last from 2-4 days. The flowers measure an impressive 10 - 12 cm across!
Plants are grwing in a 14cm solid plastic pot ready for you to transplant into a basket.
